Potty training update!

HA! You really thought I had an update?? Seriously, I am trying to be patient and not push the issue but come on guys! I am so over the diapers! I finally gave in and went to BJ's to get a huge pack of diapers - I've been buying small ones because I just knew they were going to get it soon. I know the doctor told me it was completely normal and not to make a big deal about it or it will turn into something negative. But I am starting to panic and I really think they will go to college in diapers! Ugh. I feel like I have failed somewhere but people keep telling me its normal. Maybe they are just trying to make me feel better, but its not working!

These have been up on the fridge for well over a week. Nana bought them cool coloring books with charts and stickers and fun stuff. Still no interest. Emma does have a sticker, but it is merely by default. She wanted to run around naked and the urge came and I just plopped her on the potty before we had a big poopy mess on the floor LOL!! It is still an accomplishment, nonetheless. I told them if they get a sticker for every column, they can get a new outfit for their special build a bears.

And this is their progress in close to 2 weeks. I keep thinking that they will magically wake up one morning and ask me to use the potty. I can dream, can't I??

My kids refused to potty train on my schedule. When I backed off and left them completely alone, no charts, no mandated potty times, etc., that's when things really started to happen.

Hannah, at almost 3.5, got up one morning and told me she wanted underwear and that she was potty trained. She was. No fuss, no muss, and no effort on my part. She was fully trained and had almost no accidents.

It took another 3 months before Sophie did the same. Because of Sophie's constipation issues, she asked for a pull-up whenever she need to have a BM because using the potty was very difficult for her. Right after her 4th birthday, and careful monitoring of her diet, fluid, and miralax, she got up one morning and said she was going to p**p in the potty every day and she has.

They will get it and it is so much easier on mom when you let them handle it on their own. :)
