We didn't go away anywhere this year for our vacation, but did a bunch of day trips around town. Need to save money for that pre-school bill coming in about 5 weeks (yikes!)
We went to the Children's Museum on Monday. They seemed to enjoy it more than last year. Of course they are older so could do a lot more. They tried out some of their Blue Man Group talents
Then they climbed a little. This thing goes from the floor to the ceiling. Emma got a little freaked out around the second floor because some larger kids got in. So she had a mini meltdown and climbed back down. But we watched Sean climb to the top (3rd floor!) Anyone who knows Sean knows that this is big! He won't even hang on the higher bars at gymnastics! He's getting much better and I was so proud of him going all the way to the top.
Of course, he found a train table and was would have been perfectly happy staying here all day. It took a lot of coaxing to get him out of there!
Em loved the construction stuff. Sean was more interested in playing with the truck table (same as the train table, only with trucks). Here she s driving her. . . don't know what its called. . . some kind of construction thingy!
We went to the Museum of Science on Wednesday. We parked at Daddy's work and took the green line trolley to the museum. Sean loved riding on the train. Here they are watching the ball thing. Again, Sean wanted to stay here and watch the whole time!
In the dinosaur room. They both loved the huge dinos (or "dino-snaurs" as they call them)! Its impossible to get them to pose for me anymore. I thought this didn't happen until the teen years???
Sean found more trains.
More playing with the exhibits
Then we went to the zoo on Friday. They loved it (of course)! I bribed them with fruit snacks to get this pic at the leopard exhibit!
Watching the monkeys
Ah, the petting zoo disaster. My kids are afraid of animals. Not really sure why they are so afraid, but they are. They both wanted to go in the petting section. So I let them. Sean went with Grampy, Emma clung to Daddy! Sean was actually doing pretty good with all the baby goats running around. Then Grampy went to get some food to feed them and kind of turned his back to Sean. Of course, a very large goat came right up to Sean and scared the bejeezus out of him. So he started screaming. Then Emma started screaming becasue she thought her brother was being mauled. Ugh, what a disaster. They of course were skittish for quite some time after that! We had to convince them the rest of the animals were all in cages! Here is Sean losing it! Bad Mommy taking pics :)
My little daredevil at the playground
Sean found some trucks (surprise, surprise) and Daddy found a baby toad.
Getting a ride
Sean at the tiger exhibit. He looks like he wants to eat Sean for lunch!!!
It was a fun week! Its great to see them being able to enjoy more things now that they are older. And its so much easier for us too! No stroller, no diaper bag, barely any crying. I love that they are getting older and turning into little people :)

Loved this post...great to see that you guys had so much fun. Still can't believe how much older and taller Sean and Emma look. And Sean would get along great with my Eric right now, provided that they could play with trains and trucks all day! Oh wait, no, Eric would not share anything. Forget it. We are not in the easier stages yet! hahahaha!!!!!
